The position
We are looking for a fulltime HSE Professional to support our corporate team in Serooskerke (The
Netherlands). You will work with the HSEQ team and management to provide effective and efficient
HSE services to our operations as well as HSE Management services for the shore-based
departments.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Assisting the vessels in daily HSE related matters in close cooperation with the Safety
departments on board; - Provide updates to the shore-based departments and vessel-management of changes in
legislation, class rules and industry standards within their area of competence; - Make recommendations for improvements on HSE related matters;
- Work proactively and deliver a seamless HSE service, providing support where necessary
to meet service quality requirements. - Analyzing accident/incident data from assigned vessel(s), participate actively in
improving the safety management systems; - Develop HAZID’s and HAZOP’s;
- Conduct scheduled (audit plan) and un-scheduled audits onshore as well as on board the
vessels. Provide audit reports and follow up on audit action items; - Accompanies client HSE visits/audits to the unit and provides a follow up on actions
resulting out of these visits; - Initiates and develops new procedures, working instructions or Newsletter articles
relating to HSE(Q) matters, whenever necessary to improve HSE(Q) performance.
Job and skill requirements
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Maritime or relevant areas;
- Internal or lead auditor competence is preferred;
- Excellent skills in spoken and written English;
- Knowledge of marine and offshore/drilling operations, relevant international and local
legislation, flag state and class rules; - Knowledge of ISO standards 9001/14001/45001;
- Relevant experience in shipboard management and/or HSE related activities within the
shipping or offshore oil and gas industry; - Recognition of relevant experience in place of formal qualifications is acceptable;
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Packages including database
applications; - Willing to travel on regular basis;
- Can act as Company Security Officer (CSO)
